HOVERAir: World’s First 8K Flying Action Camera fits in your pocket and operates without a remote

Your phone has a pretty phenomenal camera, but unless it’s an absolute flagship device, it probably won’t record 8K video. And it for sure won’t fly around in the air taking dramatic shots of you while you pose on the top of a mountain or dirt bike on a rocky trail or dive into a lake. You’ll probably need a selfie drone for that, but before you go spending hundreds of dollars on a drone that’s fragile, expensive, and comes with a massive learning curve involving controllers and joysticks, the folks at HOVERAir might have built the perfect consumer-grade pro drone, or as they call it – a flying action camera. Designed to be foldable, small enough to fit in your pocket, and durable enough to withstand any rookie accidents The HOVERAir X1 PROMAX still packs a state-of-the-art flying system and an 8K camera capable of outshining any other drone its size. It works on voice commands (but also comes with an optional Wi-Fi 6-enabled Beacon), takes off from your palm, reaches speeds of up to 60 km/h (37.2 mph), can capture slow-motion videos at 120fps, and even works in sub-zero temperatures just in case you want to film yourself skiing or snowboarding. The best part, the X1 PRO’s $499 starting price, along with its compact size which makes it compliant with FAA guidelines so anyone can use one.

You may remember HOVERAir from years ago when they first debuted their folding selfie-drone cameras. More than 8 years later, the company’s still sticking to its wildly popular and innovative folding drone template, but has managed to outfit its device with some very impressive tech. Available in two variants – the X1 PRO and the X1 PROMAX, these flying action cameras are capable of recording at 4K and 8K respectively. Both devices weigh under the FAA-regulated 250-gram limit, hit speeds of 42 km/h (26mph) with bursts of up to 60 km/h (37.2mph), shoot slow-mo, take photos, and also capture vertical videos for social media. The X1 PROMAX just packs a slightly better camera system that has a marginally higher FoV at 107° (compared to the X1 PRO’s 104° FoV), and uses vision-based sensors for rear active collision detection. Think of the X1 PRO as the perfect hands-free drone for filming sports, landscapes, and your dance reels, while the X1 PROMAX just being a notch higher for serious professionals and content creators who also want great photography capabilities in their drone. No controllers, no learning curve, no fuss.

The X1 PRO and PROMAX’s design remains their strongest selling point. The flying action camera opens and closes like a book, with a camera and battery system in the ‘spine’, while the four propellers sit on either side, enclosed within a flexible, durable cage-like structure made from cutting-edge HEM materials to protect them from damage during transit or flight. To use the selfie drone, open it up and you’re ready to hit the skies. The X1 PRO and PROMAX operate on voice commands, but for more expert and intuitive tracking, HOVERAir designed a hardware Beacon that packs controls, tracking sensors, and a screen for viewing your flying action camera’s PoV. There’s no traditional remote, although the Beacon transforms into one using a series of modules like a Joystick for motion control and haptic feedback, or even the ability to snap on your smartphone to give you a true RC experience with a drone’s PoV preview. In short, the drone will fly on its own and play cinematographer to all your stunts, but if you want to get behind the ‘wheel’, it’s more than happy to relinquish control. However, if you’re looking to have your flying action camera perform a set of standard flight paths, the X1 PRO and PROMAX’s automated flight modes let you choose from in-built settings like Hover, Zoom Out, Bird’s Eye, and Orbit that capture dynamic cinematic moments, or Follow, Side Follow, and Dolly Track which are better suited for action shots. HOVERAir also plans to add more modes through OTA updates.

Of course, all of this ease of use wouldn’t matter much without an impressive camera. Fortunately, the HOVERAir X1 PRO delivers on that front too. Its 17mm wide-angle lens offers a generous 104° field of view, letting you capture expansive vistas and unique angles that would be impossible from the ground. The X1 PRO can shoot in 1080p at 120 frames per second, making it perfect for those stunning slow-motion shots. Want to take things even further? Enter the X1 PROMAX, which ups the ante with 8K resolution, 4K@120fps slow-motion, and a 107° FoV, giving you the tools to create breathtaking cinematic footage. The PROMAX model also introduces an extra vision-based sensor for rear active collision detection, adding an additional layer of protection when you’re flying in tight or unpredictable spaces – ideal for those moments when you’re pushing boundaries (and maybe your luck).

The PRO and PROMAX both have a two-axis gimbal with EIS (electronic image stabilization) and HL (horizon leveling), so your footage will be rock steady even when the adventure is rough.

When it comes to camera drones, stability is everything. No one wants shaky footage from a breezy afternoon at the beach or during a fast-paced tracking shot through a forest trail. The HOVERAir X1 PRO and PROMAX rise to the challenge with built-in video stabilization that they call SmoothCapture 2.0. A two-axis gimbal with EIS (electronic image stabilization) and HL (horizon leveling) kicks in while the drone’s in flight, allowing you to focus on capturing the scene rather than compensating for jitters. For more accurate honing in on your subject, you’ve got the HoverAir Beacon, a nifty add-on that clips onto your handlebar while you’re riding, allowing you to quickly see the flying action camera’s PoV while also giving it a target it can track. This companion device unlocks live previews and expanded control options, transforming your flying experience into something closer to autonomous filmmaking. The Beacon uses HoverLink™ Technology for ultra-precise tracking, so you can leave the steering to the X1 PRO or PROMAX and focus on getting the shot.

Once you’ve filmed your shot, Wi-Fi 6 integration ensures your aerial masterpiece doesn’t stay stuck in the device’s memory. Quick file transfers mean you can start editing almost immediately after landing. Plus, the selfie drone’s long-range video transmission of up to 1 km (with the Beacon) lets you explore and shoot from afar, capturing wide-open landscapes or large events without sacrificing video quality. It’s the kind of feature that makes you feel like the director of your own blockbuster.

Beyond the camera and flight smarts, the Hover X1 PRO is built to be a winning combination of portable and durable. The foldable design doesn’t affect the drone’s ability to fly with great dexterity, and even with those collision-prevention mechanisms in place, the X1 PRO and PROMAX can dust off mild bumps and accidents thanks to a flexible, shock-absorbing propeller cage. And then there’s the thrill of taking this thing off-road—literally. The X1 Pro’s Omni terrain capability makes it versatile enough to fly over lakes, through snowy forests, or along cliff edges with ease. It adds a whole new layer of adventure to your flights. The control system adapts right along with it, allowing you to turn the Hover Beacon into a one-handed joystick or opt for the more traditional two-handed smartphone setup. Either way, it adjusts to how you want to fly and where you’re flying.

You can either fold the device and carry it around in your pocket when not in use, but HOVERAir also makes a slick leather carrying case to haul your compact aerial camera around wherever you go. However, if you’re looking for an upgrade, HOVERAir’s even designed a PowerCase, which both houses your flying action camera and even supplements it with up to two additional battery charges. Designed specifically for use in extreme cold weather, the PowerCase works at temperatures even as low as -4°F (-20°C) to keep your device charged and ready for flight. Of course, flying your drone in sub-zero temperatures is yet another challenge, which is why HOVERAir even sells a special ‘Thermo Battery’ that you can fit into either the X1 PRO or X1 PROMAX, giving it an operating temperature range of -4°F to 113°F.

Both the HOVERAir X1 PRO and PROMAX come with built-in 64GB storage, upgradable up to 1TB thanks to an SD card slot located on the flying action camera’s body. The X1 PRO and PROMAX run in conjunction with the HOVERAir X1 app, which allows you to configure flight modes, download and share content, launch manual control, and even install firmware updates on your flying action camera. The app offers a transmission range of 500m, while the Beacon bumps it up to an entire kilometer. You can grab the X1 PRO and PROMAX either as standalone devices, or opt for cycling or skiing combos that include the leather carrying case, PowerCase, Thermo Battery, the Beacon, or the modular accessories that turn the Beacon into a joystick. The X1 PRO and PROMAX have already begun shipping as of end-September with a 12-month warranty, and the batteries get a 12-month warranty too (applicable up to 100 cycles).

Pangolin-inspired robot can dig and “poop” out seeds to plant trees

Not all robots have to look, well, robotic. There is a growing number of robots that are inspired by real life creatures (sometimes, even humans, but that’s a whole other discussion) or so called bio-inspired bots. The latest winner of the Natural Robotics Contest is inspired by a pretty unlikely animal: the insect-eating mammal called the Pangolin.

Designer: Dorothy and Dr. Robert Siddall

A high school student from California named Dorothy designed a robot whose main goal is to dig and plant seeds. Since pangolins are naturally digging animals, why not use it to create a robot that can help populate areas with more trees? The winning concept was turned into an actual prototype called the Plantolin by the partner research institute. More than just looking like a pangolin, it uses features from the mammal and incorporate it into the functions of the robot.

The Plantolin roves around on two wheels and just like the pangolin, it balances on its long, movable tail. Each of the wheels has an electric quadcopter drone motor. The digging is done by these two front legs with the tail tilting down once it starts to provide leverage. Once there’s a hole already, the robot drives over it and poops out a yew tree seed bomb nugget (containing both seeds and soil).

It’s a pretty interesting way to re-populate a space with more trees. It will probably be faster and will need minimal human intervention when it’s programmed right, so no need to train actual pangolins to do the job.

Apple’s Smart Home Display: Redefining Design, AI, and Everyday Convenience Powered by homeOS

Apple is preparing to introduce a smart home device that blends the capabilities of an iPad, Apple TV, and HomePod. While we’ve seen hints of this over the past year, it’s clear that Apple is aiming to offer something more streamlined and familiar for those looking to automate their homes. These new devices are set to roll out in 2025 and are powered by Apple’s homeOS, an operating system specifically designed to simplify home management.

Designer: Apple

At the heart of these products is Apple’s design philosophy: simplicity, usability, and seamless integration with everyday life. For instance, one of the upcoming models will focus on essential tasks like FaceTime, controlling smart home devices, and using apps. It’s not overcomplicated or cluttered with unnecessary features—it’s practical. The goal is clear: offer consumers a device that fits easily into their routine without feeling like they’re learning a whole new system. The design reflects that, with a clean, intuitive interface that works well for families or anyone who wants to manage their home easily.

For those looking for something a bit more premium, Apple has a model that takes things a step further. This version includes a robotic arm that automatically tilts and adjusts the screen for optimal viewing, creating a hands-free experience. Whether you’re in the middle of a FaceTime call or watching something while moving around the kitchen, the device adapts without needing constant attention. This sort of design choice speaks to Apple’s focus on making technology work around the user, not the other way around. Its functional design is meant to simplify, not complicate.

Apple’s homeOS ties everything together, offering a smarter, more intuitive way to control devices. It’s a natural extension of what Apple already does with products like the iPhone and iPad, but homeOS is explicitly designed to manage smart homes. This isn’t just about setting up timers for lights or adjusting the thermostat—Apple Intelligence learns your habits, automating tasks without you even thinking about it. It adjusts based on your routine, handling everything from lighting to temperature so the home feels like it’s working for you.

Design plays a significant role here, too. For instance, one of the models will have a magnetic mount, making it easy to place wherever you need it, whether on the wall or a table. It’s simple, and that’s precisely the point. You don’t have to redesign your home to fit this device; it adapts to your space. With its adjustable screen, the premium model’s robotic arm offers even more flexibility. It’s a device that can move with you, keeping convenience and usability front and center.

Apple’s approach to smart homes feels different because they’ve always been about creating an ecosystem that works together. This new device is no exception. If you’re already using an iPhone, Mac, or Apple TV, this product will slot right into your life. You won’t need to learn a new platform or jump through hoops—it’s designed to be intuitive for anyone already familiar with Apple’s ecosystem. And for those who aren’t, it’s still easy to use.

As we move toward the 2025 launch, it’s clear that Apple is focusing on making home automation feel more natural. These new devices are not just about throwing in more features but offering a thoughtful design that blends into everyday life. Whether it’s the magnetic mount or the robotic arm, Apple’s design choices always come back to one thing: how can this make the consumer’s life easier? And that’s why their approach makes sense.

Apple to launch NEW iPad Mini after 3 years, plus M4 MacBook, iMac, and Mac Mini at upcoming October event

Although Apple just announced latest iterations of the iPhone, Watch, and AirPods, it seems like the company still has new products left to announce. Given that the iPad Pro got the M4 chip earlier this year, it only makes sense that Apple would bring the same flagship chip to their other products. Renowned analyst Mark Gurman announced that Apple has yet another event that’s due for sometime in October. The upcoming October 2024 event is expected to unveil a range of exciting new products, particularly in the Mac and iPad lineup. Among the anticipated announcements are the M4 MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini, along with new iterations of the iPad mini (which hasn’t seen an update since 2021) and iPad 11. These product launches continue Apple’s trend of releasing updated models with each passing year, reflecting its commitment to pushing the boundaries of performance, design, and user experience. This event is expected to mark the debut of the M4 chip series, following last year’s release of the M3-powered devices.

The MacBook Pro is expected to take center stage with updated 14-inch and 16-inch models featuring the new M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips. Apple fans are likely to appreciate the continued refinement of performance, even though there are no expected changes to the external design of these laptops. The MacBook Pro last saw a significant redesign in 2021, and rumors suggest that an OLED display and thinner design may not appear until 2026. However, the anticipated internal improvements promise to elevate multitasking, graphics capabilities, and battery efficiency, catering to professionals and creative users alike. These updates should keep the MacBook Pro in contention as one of the most powerful and efficient laptops in the market.

In addition to the MacBook Pro, Apple is also planning to update the iMac with the M4 chip. While there has been speculation about potential design changes, the primary focus for the iMac appears to be performance enhancement. The Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad accessories are also rumored to switch from Lightning to USB-C, aligning with Apple’s gradual transition to USB-C across its product lines. This would provide a more uniform experience for users who own multiple Apple devices, offering a higher degree of flexibility and compatibility across accessories.

The Mac mini is another product expected to benefit from the M4 series, sort of leapfrogging from the M2 chip that it currently has from 2 years ago. The M4 and M4 Pro chips should deliver significant improvements in speed and efficiency. Notably, the Mac mini is rumored to undergo a physical redesign, potentially shrinking to a size closer to that of an Apple TV. This compact redesign is likely to appeal to users looking for a powerful yet space-efficient desktop solution. However, reports suggest that the new Mac mini may forgo USB-A ports, which could stir some debate among users who rely on legacy devices. Given this news, one could assume that the Mac Studio will get a similar M4 upgrade sometime early next year.

The iPad mini is also on the agenda for the October event, with the seventh-generation model expected to feature a faster chip (possibly the A18 that’s inside the flagship iPhones), upgraded cameras, and improved display performance to address the “jelly scrolling” issue that has affected portrait-mode usage. Additionally, the iPad mini is expected to support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, making it more future-proof in terms of wireless connectivity. For users seeking a more portable alternative to the full-sized iPad, the iPad mini continues to offer an excellent balance of power and portability. The introduction of new color options will also cater to those who prioritize personalization in their devices.

Lastly, Apple is expected to reveal new lower-end iPads, including the iPad 11 (which hasn’t been updated since 2022). These devices will likely focus on offering accessible entry points into Apple’s ecosystem while maintaining solid performance, making them ideal for education and general productivity purposes.

This October event is shaping up to be an important one for Apple’s computing division, with a strong focus on incremental improvements in performance, user experience, and design efficiency across its product lineup. The introduction of the M4 series will undoubtedly enhance the capabilities of the MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac mini, while updates to the iPad lineup will maintain Apple’s leadership in the tablet market. It’s just been a week since Apple’s last keynote and the company’s still waiting for consumers to get their hands on the iPhone 16 and Watch 10 devices, so it doesn’t seem like Apple will announce for at least a few weeks. However, if the event’s due for October, we can expect Apple to either announce it formally at the end of the month or silently update devices like they’ve done in the past although the latter seems less likely.

Apple Unveils iPhone 16 Pro with New Camera, Video, and Audio Features Powered by A18 Pro Chip

Apple has introduced the iPhone 16 Pro, bringing significant updates to both its design and performance. The iPhone 16 Pro now features larger displays—6.3 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max—making them the biggest iPhone screens yet. Despite the larger size, Apple has minimized bezels, resulting in a sleek, nearly edge-to-edge look. The adaptive 120Hz ProMotion technology provides smooth scrolling, while the always-on display functionality gives users quick access to key information.

Designer: Apple

The iPhone 16 Pro’s design is constructed using aerospace-grade titanium, offering both durability and lightness. This titanium body is available in four finishes: Black Titanium, White Titanium, Natural Titanium, and Desert Titanium. The device also incorporates a new thermal architecture that improves sustained performance while keeping the phone cool during heavy use. The Pro models are also water and dust-resistant, ensuring longevity in various environments.

Photography: Real-Time Control and Customization

The iPhone 16 Pro empowers creativity through its 48-megapixel fusion camera, which integrates a second-generation quad-pixel sensor capable of reading data twice as fast, allowing for zero shutter lag. Whether capturing fast-moving subjects or subtle details, this new system ensures uncompromised resolution and detail. The sensor’s high-speed data transfer to the A18 Pro chip allows users to capture 48-megapixel proRAW and HEAT photos effortlessly.

A new 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera complements the fusion camera, offering high-resolution shots with autofocus. It excels in capturing wider scenes and stunning macro shots, delivering sharpness and clarity that make it indispensable for creative users. The 5x telephoto camera—with Apple’s longest focal length—provides incredible zoom capabilities from a distance, while the Tetra Prism design improves optical performance for more detailed, high-quality images.

To streamline the photography process, the iPhone 16 Pro introduces an upgraded camera control system. This interface lets users quickly switch between lenses and adjust the depth of field and exposure with a dedicated slider. Later this year, a two-stage shutter will be added, allowing users to lock focus and exposure with a light press, offering precision when reframing shots.

Advanced Photographic Styles and Real-Time Grading

Apple has enhanced the creative range of the iPhone 16 Pro with advanced photographic styles, allowing users to personalize their photos in real-time. With the A18 Pro chip, the image pipeline dynamically adjusts skin tones, colors, highlights, and shadows, enabling a wider range of aesthetic choices. Users can apply styles like black-and-white, dramatic tones, and other custom looks that go beyond basic filters and fine-tune the look with a new control path that simultaneously adjusts tone and color.

What sets these styles apart is the ability to change them after capture, allowing greater flexibility in editing. The real-time preview enabled by the A18 Pro gives users a professional-level color grading experience as they shoot, a significant upgrade for photographers looking for more creative control.

Video: Cinema-Grade Capabilities

The iPhone 16 Pro significantly advances video recording. The new 4K 120fps recording in Dolby Vision is possible thanks to the faster sensor in the 48-megapixel fusion camera and the high transfer speeds of the Apple camera interface. The image signal processor (ISP) of the A18 Pro allows for frame-by-frame cinema-quality color grading, enabling professional-quality video capture directly on the iPhone.

One of the most exciting features is the ability to shoot 4K 120 ProRes and Log video directly to an external storage device, perfect for high-end workflows that demand high frame rates and extensive color grading control. Users no longer need to commit to frame rates upfront—they can adjust playback speed after capture. Whether for slow-motion effects or cinematic storytelling, the iPhone 16 Pro offers flexible playback options, including quarter-speed, half-speed, and 1/5-speed for 24fps cinematic moments.

The camera control interface supports third-party apps like FiLMiC Pro and Grid Composer, enabling advanced features such as precise framing based on the rule of thirds and other composition tools. This further solidifies the iPhone 16 Pro as a versatile tool for video creators.

Audio: Studio-quality sound and Spatial Audio

The iPhone 16 Pro also delivers significant audio upgrades. Four studio-quality microphones provide low noise levels for true-to-life sound capture, whether recording vocals or instruments. The reduced noise floor ensures high-quality audio, which is essential for professional recordings.

A new feature is spatial audio capture during video recording, enhancing the immersive experience when paired with AirPods or viewed on Apple Vision Pro. The spatial audio capture allows dynamic editing through the new audio mix feature, which uses machine learning to separate background elements from voices. This feature includes three voice options: in-frame mix, which isolates the person’s voice on camera; studio mix, which replicates a professional recording environment by eliminating reverb; and cinematic mix, which positions the vocal track upfront with surrounding environmental sounds in the background.

For content creators, Voice Memos now offers the ability to layer tracks on top of existing recordings. This is especially useful for musicians, who can now add vocals over a guitar track or any other instrumental recording. The system automatically isolates the voice from the background audio for a clean, professional result.

A18 Pro Chip: Powering Creativity and Performance

At the core of the iPhone 16 Pro’s new capabilities is the A18 Pro chip, built with second-generation 3-nanometer technology for improved performance and efficiency. The 16-core Neural Engine is designed for tasks requiring high computational power, such as machine learning and generative AI. With a 17% increase in system memory bandwidth, the iPhone 16 Pro can handle tasks such as ray tracing in gaming, 4K video editing, and more.

The A18 Pro chip’s enhanced image signal processor (ISP) enables real-time color grading and supports the advanced photo and video capabilities of the iPhone 16 Pro, ensuring that every shot and video benefits from professional-level quality. The chip’s GPU also provides 20% faster performance, allowing for smoother gaming and more efficient graphics rendering.

iPhone 16 Pro: Is It Time to Switch or Upgrade?

For professional creators, the iPhone 16 Pro delivers the performance and tools needed to meet demanding creative standards. Powered by the A18 Pro chip, it offers advanced photographic styles, pro-level video recording, and studio-quality audio. Whether capturing intricate details in images, producing cinematic-quality videos, or recording clear, high-fidelity audio, the iPhone 16 Pro provides the precision and control necessary to achieve your creative goals. This upgrade is a powerful creative tool designed to push the boundaries of your work, supporting and enhancing your vision with every use.

Apple’s focus on AI brings Apple Intelligence to the iPhone 16. This system integrates generative models directly into the device, allowing for more natural language understanding and personalization. It can rewrite messages, suggest professional tones, and even create emojis based on descriptions. Additionally, users can use the new Visual Intelligence feature through the camera, which allows the device to identify objects, locations, and events simply by pointing the camera. This feature provides quick access to information such as restaurant details, event schedules, or product identification, bringing a new level of interaction to the iPhone.

The iPhone 16’s camera system has also been upgraded with a 48-megapixel main camera, allowing users to capture images with more detail. A new 2x telephoto option offers optical quality, made possible by the device’s computational photography capabilities. The ultra-wide camera, now with autofocus, allows for better low-light performance and macro photography, while spatial video and photo capture bring new dimensions to memory preservation, compatible with Apple’s Vision Pro headset.

Apple Watch Series 10: Largest Display and Enhanced Usability Detailed

Apple’s latest wearable, the Series 10 Watch, pushes usability and design to new heights. Featuring its largest and most advanced display yet, the Series 10 now boasts the biggest screen ever built into the brand’s smartwatch lineup. Slightly larger than the Apple Watch Ultra, this screen provides up to 30% more area than earlier versions, allowing users to increase font size without losing content and offering extra lines of text for apps like Messages and Mail.

Designer: Apple

In focusing on user experience, the company has made Series 10 easier to interact with. Rounded corners and a wider aspect ratio give the watch a sleek and softer appearance. One of the most significant upgrades is the first-ever wide-angle OLED display, designed to emit more light at wider viewing angles. This proves particularly useful when checking the watch from the side, such as while typing or walking. The display is also up to 40% brighter when viewed at an angle, making information easier to read in passing.

Battery efficiency remains a priority, and Series 10 features Always On mode, which updates once per second and displays a ticking second hand even when the wrist is down. A new watch face, Flux, takes full advantage of the large display, filling it with dynamic color. The case, made from a polished aluminum alloy, marks a first for Apple with its reflective Jet Black and warm Rose Gold finishes.

Comfort has been central to the design of the Series 10. The latest iteration is Apple’s thinnest watch, measuring 9.7 millimeters thick, almost 10% thinner than its predecessor. Achieving this thin profile required miniaturizing essential components, including the digital crown, SIP, and speaker system, which has been re-engineered to be 30% smaller without compromising sound quality. Users can now play music or podcasts directly through the watch’s speaker, eliminating the need for AirPods in certain situations.

Series 10 offers the fastest charging experience, thanks to a new metal back that integrates the antenna and enhances cellular performance. The design retains its 50-meter water resistance, making it ideal for swimming and surfing. Charging now reaches 80% in just 30 minutes, adding convenience to the user’s day.

Alongside the aluminum options, the tech giant has introduced polished titanium cases in three colors: natural, gold, and dark slate gray. These lightweight cases are nearly 20% lighter than the stainless steel Series 9, offering durability without extra bulk. The Milanese Loop and Classic Link bracelets have been updated to match these titanium finishes, creating a seamless metallic aesthetic.

Beyond functionality and design, the Series 10 reflects Apple’s commitment to sustainability. The titanium model is made with 95% recycled materials and produced using renewable electricity. The new S10 SIP, featuring a neural engine, powers key features like Siri dictation and crash detection, enhancing everyday usability and safety.

The Apple Watch Series 10 represents the company’s ongoing effort to combine thoughtful design with cutting-edge technology, delivering a seamless user experience worldwide.

UGREEN’s 13-in-1 Thunderbolt 5 Docking Station is an absolute productivity beast: Hands-On at IFA 2024

Standing amidst its new NAS system, and all its award-winning chargers and power-banks at the UGREEN Booth at IFA 2024 was this one monolithic device that UGREEN’s rep told me was their next piece of product innovation. The new Revodok Thunderbolt 5 Docking Station is an ambitious piece of hardware boasting a staggering 120 Gbit/s bandwidth, as many as 13 ports, and the ability to support a single 8K display or dual 4K displays. If you’re tired of waiting for files to transfer or struggling with multi-display setups, this dock promises to take care of it all, especially with Thunderbolt 5’s massive 80Gbps speed boost—three times faster than Thunderbolt 4. Its Bandwidth Boost Mode dynamically adjusts the data flow, making sure nothing bottlenecks, even under heavy load. For power users handling 8K video editing or complex workflows, this feature offers serious appeal. The best part? It’s a compact, vertical number that seriously cuts clutter on your desk, giving you a minimal workplace that’s maximal on productivity and output.

Designer: UGREEN

The Revodok is loaded with as many as 13 ports, making it a versatile hub for just about any setup. Whether you need USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, DisplayPort, Ethernet, or even an SD card reader, it’s all there. The dock supports 8K displays at 60Hz and dual 4K setups, catering perfectly to those who thrive on multi-screen environments. Add in 10 Gbps USB 4 support for newer laptops, and you’ve got a future-proof workstation companion. If reliable internet is a priority, the 2.5G Ethernet port ensures stable, high-speed connectivity. Plus, it offers 85W Power Delivery, which can charge demanding devices like laptops, so your desk stays tidy without extra charging bricks cluttering things up.

Despite all the power it packs, the Revodok’s compact design won’t dominate your workspace. Its clean, modern look fits in seamlessly, and it’s portable enough to take with you if your office setup tends to move. Besides, those visible heat-sink fins do tend to give the device a rather cool, almost amphibian aesthetic. Durability and build quality remain key, as UGREEN has a strong track record in this department.

While pricing and exact availability remain under wraps, you can expect the Revodok to hit the high-end market when it arrives later in 2024 or early 2025. It’s aimed at users who are ready for the next generation of connectivity, and it promises to deliver on all fronts. If you’re looking for speed, versatility, and reliability, this dock might be the upgrade you’ve been waiting for—plus, it’s bound to make your desk look a bit more impressive.

XGIMI Debuts Stylish Projectors to Deliver Quality Entertainment For All, Wherever You Are

With cord-cutting and streaming services, the boundaries between home entertainment and watching videos on the go have gotten even blurrier. With the freedom and flexibility of sources for entertainment, consumers have also begun yearning for freedom from conventional TV boxes or even flat displays. Laser projectors have risen in popularity in the past few years, whether they’re the big hulking boxes that are kept at home or the funky cylinders that we can take anywhere with us. The designs of these projectors have also changed considerably over the years, adapting not just to the needs of people but also to their aesthetic tastes. Now XGIMI is introducing not just one, not even just two, but five sleek new projectors to satisfy your entertainment needs, wherever the craving hits you.

Designer: XGIMI

XGIMI Elfin Flip: Elegance and Power in One

Laser projectors have this connotation of large, uninspiring boxes used in meetings or formal presentations, but today’s designs have thankfully outgrown that stereotype. In fact, some projectors have even embraced the call of adventure, accompanying people wherever they go, ready to play a movie at a moment’s notice. The new XGIMI Elfin Flip is one of the latest in this new breed of projectors, and it doesn’t sacrifice elegance for portability.

With its thin and tall triangular body, the Elfin Flip almost looks like an Objet d’art that adds a subtle yet beautiful accent to any space. But flip its middle section down and it’s ready to play a movie in your living room, impress your bosses with a presentation in the board room, or dazzle your friends with photos from your latest island getaway vacation. And with its compact design, you can easily switch between any of these places without breaking a sweat.

The XGIMI Elfin Flip doesn’t skimp on the performance to get that slim body either. Boasting a brightness of 400 ISO lumens, two built-in 3W speakers, a multi-angle projection of up to 150 degrees, and featuring automatic keystone correction and screen alignment, this stylish projector delivers the right amount of power for an enjoyable movie day or movie night. Powered by WebOS with support for Netflix and thousands of apps, the Elfin Flip offers nearly limitless possibilities on what you can show on an extra-large screen. Best of all, the XGIMI Elfin Flip only costs $399, making it a very tempting offer for those who want a stylish project at home and anywhere they go.

Intelligent obstacle avoidance, automatic keystone correction, and other smart features offer stress-free and effortless operation so you can worry less about setting the projector up and spend more time enjoying the video or music. It can even be powered by a 65W power bank via USB-C, so power outlets will never be a problem. Launching the MoGo 2 Plus and Halo+ (New), XGIMI is introducing a new generation in its portfolio that adds Google TV support. This makes Netflix a first-class citizen, as demonstrated by new remotes with a dedicated Netflix button.
