Luxury Meets Micro-Living In This Tiny Home Blessed With A Rooftop Terrace

20 février 2025 à 00:30

Tiny house builders constantly seek ways to maximize living space, and this clever model addresses the challenge with an innovative interior design that includes a rooftop terrace, complete with seating and a pergola. Designed by Modern Shed, this tiny house is constructed on a triple-axle trailer, measuring 34 ft (10 m) in length and 10 ft (3 m) in width. This increased width creates a more open interior feel but requires a permit for towing on public roads in the US. The exterior features a painted shiplap finish.

Designer: Modern Shed

As previously mentioned, the layout of this tiny house deviates from the standard design in different ways. The main entrance consists of sliding glass doors that open directly into the living room, creating an inviting and airy transition from outside to inside. This central living area occupies the middle section of the ground floor and includes comfortable seating, clever storage solutions, and a ceiling adorned with wood elements. The space also includes an underfloor heating system to offer warmth during the cooler months.

The kitchen isn’t adjacent to the living room as seen in most tiny homes. Instead, it has been ingeniously positioned in one of the loft areas, accessible via a short flight of steps. The kitchen boasts generous headroom, allowing easy movement and an airy atmosphere. It comes well-equipped with modern appliances, including a fridge/freezer, a compact dishwasher, an electric cooktop, and a microwave. A cozy small dining table provides a perfect spot for meals. The kitchen also features an impressive ceiling design that merges wood and cork, adding a unique aesthetic appeal to the space, and a touch of nature.

The rooftop deck is conveniently accessed from the kitchen area by climbing some steps that cleverly double as storage units. This elevated outdoor space is outfitted with comfortable seating and tables, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and enjoying leisurely meals in the open air. The deck is topped with a pergola that provides a pleasant mix of sunlight and shade, and is designed to be easily removable for safe storage when the house is on the move.

The bedroom in the home can be accessed via a set of steps from the living room. The loft space is equipped with a double bed, and an overhead skylight which allows natural light to stream in during the day, while offering a view of the stars at night. A lowered standing platform elevates the functionality of the bedroom, making it much more convenient for residents to stand upright comfortably and get dressed easily. The bathroom is on the ground floor of the house, and it contains a vanity sink, toilet, shower, a washer/dryer, and direct access to the outside through a secondary entrance. This little dwelling is currently priced at US$149,000.

The bunk-bed setup ensures that not much space is occupied by the sleeping quarters. It can accommodate two people, and the built-in staircase offers easy access to the upper bed. The lower bed also features easy-to-reach storage. These simple yet meaningful details make this bunk bed modern and functional, unlike the basic kids’ bunk bed we often see. The Sunny Bunkie has more than enough space for a home office and a small lounge with a sofa and multiple storage options. As you enter through the glass doors, you enter a space that is cozy and inviting. The glass doors visually make the interior seem more spacious, giving the floor space a more generous impression. The space also features a small exterior deck, that allows the home to stay connected to its surroundings. The roof protects the deck as well, creating a sheltered outdoor space. This adorable deck is great for spending time with loved ones out in the sun, absorbing the beauty of nature.

The Sunny Bunkie may not be completely classified as a tiny home, but the adaptable home is built using the same high-quality materials as the Sunshine Tiny Home models. It is fully insulated to ensure comfort throughout the year and to enhance durability over time. Each unit comes equipped with lighting and a heating system, facilitated by a 30-amp sub panel that allows for easy connection to existing electrical systems. The Sunny Bunkie truly lives up to its name, offering the option to integrate a solar power system, making it both an affordable and sustainable modern living solution.

The Sunny Bunkie boasts an innovative exterior that promotes outdoor connectivity, while its versatile interior is designed to accommodate a wide variety of activities. Boxabl Impresses With Another Foldable Tiny Home That Is Spacious & Can Be Moved Within A Day

8 février 2025 à 23:30

Boxabl recently designed a tiny home called Baby Box that can be constructed in 60 minutes. And they’re back with another banger called the Casita! The Casita is another tiny home is more square footage, and it will be ready to move in within a day. Boxabl’s ingenious, foldable designs truly seem to be redefining the tiny home market. These homes can be built in a matter of hours, and they can be shipped directly to any destination. The Casita measures 19 ft long by 8 ft 6 in wide and 12 ft 4 in tall (5.8 x 2.6 x 3.8 m). Once the house has been unfolded, it measures around 19 ft by 19 ft with a 10 ft 9-in rooftop (5.8 x 5.8 x 3.3 m). The interior includes a spacious 9.5-ft (2.9-m) ceiling.

Designer: Boxabl

The Casita comes with fully pre-installed wiring and plumbing from the factory, making the installation process for this 13,000-lb (5,897-kg) home incredibly straightforward and hassle-free. In terms of convenience, it is even more convenient than travel trailers. Despite being a folding house, Boxabl claims the Casita is constructed to a higher code standard than many traditional manufactured homes.

There are two versions of the Casita available to accommodate various zoning requirements. The modular version is built in accordance with residential building codes. It is fully equipped with full-size electric appliances, including a refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, and HVAC. It is also equipped with two entry/exit doors and is linked to the grid with a 100-amp service. The modular Casita can be stacked, or connected side by side, if and when your family grows.

Boxabl also offers another version of the Casita – the park model RV option. This model is constructed to meet RV specifications, following the standard ANSI A119.5 RV code. Unlike traditional homes, it is permanently affixed to a rolling chassis, similar to a travel trailer. Some unique features include having only one entry/exit door and the option for a propane-fueled stove. It requires a 50-amp or 100-amp service, much like larger RVs do.

However, both the Casita models share key features, such as energy-efficient insulation, LED lighting, a 30-gallon (113-L) electric water heater, a full bathroom, and pre-installed utility hookups (water, sewage, electricity), enabling homeowners to settle into their tiny homes immediately.

The Casita is the Boxabl’s first model, and it was released in September 2020. The company made its first delivery in 2020, by providing 156 Casitas for Camp Justice at Guantanamo Bay to house juries and lawyers. Casita has been utilized for humanitarian relief efforts – ranging from housing a copper mine workforce in Arizona to creating a commercial Airbnb community in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

This Mediterranean-Style Tiny Dwelling Gives Vacation Vibes While Functioning As A Full-Time Residence

8 février 2025 à 00:30

Australian tiny homes are renowned for their seamless indoor-outdoor integration, which enhances their spaciousness and strengthens the connection with the natural environment. These mobile homes are ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who want an immersive experience with all the amenities and functionalities of a modern urban home.

Uber Tiny Homes’ latest model, the brand-new Torakina, showcases this design trend beautifully. It fully embraces the outdoors with two separate entrances on one side, while expansive windows throughout the home increase brightness and provide stunning panoramic views.

Designer: Uber Tiny Homes

The home features a single-level configuration which creates a unique and immersive experience. You are constantly surrounded by nature, which ensures there is no sense of isolation, and the entire space feels free-flowing and spacious. Sliding glass doors offer access to the exterior deck from the kitchen and bedroom. The glass doors blur the line between the interior and exterior, with the exterior deck expanding the home’s available floor space. This increases the sense of spaciousness and creates an indoor-outdoor experience that most modern homeowners crave.

The Torakina combines two distinct entrances to create a harmonious blend of openness and privacy, transforming the bedroom into a secluded retreat. The innovative kitchen/lounge layout offers a brand-new approach to interior design. This fascinating concept is the star feature of the Torakina. Tiny homes typically favor open-style kitchens and lounges without clear division, but the Torakina merges these spaces seamlessly. The kitchen cabinets extend into a built-in lounge, while a separate kitchen island serves as a visual focal point.

The kitchen is equipped with wide openings, which creates more spaciousness. It includes an island-bench that is truly quite versatile – it functions as a breakfast bar, meal prep area, and a storage solution. The placement is quite clever, as it offers the best views from any angle. When you open the glass doors, the kitchen becomes a surreal indoor/outdoor area.

The kitchen is outfitted with a full-size fridge and oven, as well as a generous countertop with storage underneath. The built-in lounge sofa serves almost as a natural extension of the kitchen countertop, allowing the lounge and kitchen to seamlessly combine into a unique U-shaped structure. This space contains a sofa, which can be converted into a guest bed.

Torakina features a single, yet luxurious, bedroom located at one end of the home for enhanced privacy. It offers exclusive access to the outdoor deck through separate glass doors. The panoramic views are quite breathtaking, and the clever design ensures an unobstructed line of sight from the bed, creating a remarkable sense of free-flowing space. This transforms the bedroom into an elegant oasis nestled within the natural surroundings.

Since the home includes only one bedroom, there is ample space to accommodate a double bed and full-sized dressers, along with a wide cabinet in the center for additional storage. The room includes two windows, which allow natural light to stream into the space. The sliding glass doors transform the master bedroom into a luxurious indoor/outdoor oasis. The Torakina creates the experience of a vacation getaway, while being perfectly suitable for full-time living.

This Tiny Home For A Small Family Fuses An American Design Style With A European-Inspired Size

20 janvier 2025 à 00:30

Frontier Tiny Homes had unveiled their extra-wide and super spacious Felicity model some time ago. It had impressed us with its spaciousness and openness, but now the firm has designed a home that is the complete opposite! Say hello to Agatha – a compact tiny home with more in common with the smaller European models, but is still right for full-time living. The Agatha shares a similar styling with Felicity but in a more compact body. The tiny home is based on a double-axle trailer and features a length of 20 feet. It is finished in tongue and groove cedar siding and metal. A metal roof tops off the house.

Designer: Frontier Tiny Homes

As you enter the home, you are welcomed by a well-designed kitchen that serves as the heart of the home. It is stocked with modern appliances like a fridge/freezer combination, a sink, and a two-burner propane-powered stove that delivers efficient cooking capabilities. A microwave is added as well, as well as plenty of cabinetry to maximize storage space for kitchen essentials and utensils. The living room is adjacent to the kitchen, and it has a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

A wall-mounted TV provides entertainment options, making the space perfect for movie nights or catching up on favorite shows. To further enhance comfort, an electric fireplace adds a touch of warmth and ambiance, while a mini-split air-conditioning unit is installed to ensure the interior temperature remains pleasant throughout the year.

The lovely tiny home makes the most of its compact footprint. It is equipped with two loft spaces that serve as the primary sleeping areas. The lofts feature low ceilings, which offer limited headroom, but also create an intimate and cozy space. The first loft functions as the master bedroom, and you can enter it via a wooden ladder. The ladder slides to the side when not in use, which saves space, while also adding a touch of elegance and functionality to the design. The master bedroom includes a double bed, serving as a private sanctuary within the tiny home.

The second loft is positioned on the opposite end of the Agatha and can be accessed via a removable ladder. This loft is designed to be versatile and can be used as a secondary bedroom or an additional storage area, depending on the resident’s requirements. This room is smaller than the master bedroom and accommodates a double bed. Its dual-purpose nature makes it quite valuable and functional, showcasing flexibility in how a space can be used.

The lofts in the Agatha tiny house demonstrate smart design and efficient use of space, providing functional sleeping areas without compromising on style or comfort. The inclusion of innovative ladder systems and adaptable layouts ensures that the tiny house meets the different needs of its occupants, making it a practical and attractive choice for those seeking a compact yet comfortable living environment.

The Little Chateau Is A Dark & Moody Tiny Home With A Masculine Aura For The Modern Gentleman

9 décembre 2024 à 13:15

Called the Little Chateau and designed by Artisan Tiny Homes, this tiny home embodies a masculine aura with a dark and moody aesthetic. The Tasmanian-based tiny home-maker attempted to capture the owner’s aesthetic and transfer it into their home. The owner requested a cocoon-like house with a masculine aura.

They wanted a home where they could cook on the fire, and star gaze as well. Taking into account the owner’s height, the kitchen was raised, and the wooden stove was installed at the same height as the kitchen countertop to facilitate comfortable and easy cooking.

Designer: Artisan Tiny Homes

Although the house embodies a rather dark and moody theme, it still has a free-flowing and airy interior. It is lined with large windows that open the home to the outdoors while offering access to the surrounding views. This creates a contrasting and fascinating effect, where the living space manages to be spacious and masculine. The furnishings feature a matte black color – ranging from the tapware and handrails to the wood stove and kitchen sink. An adorable LEGO piano has been placed in the home, which adds a wonderful effect to the space.

The 26.2 feet tiny home includes an open-concept main-floor layout with a lounge and a kitchen. The master bedroom is placed in the loft area, and a guest bedroom is in the second loft. It also features a custom staircase, which looks like double ladders. One section leads to the smaller loft, while the second section leads to the master bedroom. The main loft section has been equipped with a lovely skylight for stargazing, and the second smaller loft is pretty well-ventilated as well.

The lounge area is marked by sliding glass doors and an oversized picture window which are found in most Australian tiny homes. The home allows natural light to stream in through the day creating a cozy and luminous living area. The home is a mysterious and seductive build specially designed and curated for the residents.

Vaulted Tiny Home Seems To Float Above The Ground, While Seamlessly Merging Indoors & Outdoors

3 décembre 2024 à 14:20

Studio Tololo Ugarte designed a luxurious and sophisticated vaulted tiny home called the Catalejo. Catalejo translates to Spyglass, and the home is heavily inspired by the surrounding landscape. The lines are blurred between the interiors of the home, and the site, creating a truly unique living space.

The site includes four established trees that are over 300 years old, and a unique landscape that is semi-arid during the summer, and lush and green during the spring and winter. The home is equipped with an extra-high arched ceiling, that supports the presence of multiple geometrically-shaped windows.

Designer: Tololo Ugarte

The home is elevated above the ground, to ensure the existing landscape isn’t heavily impacted. Natural vegetation grows underneath the home. This reduces soil disruption, while also ensuring the landscape naturally regenerates. The unique design also creates the impression that the house is floating above the greenery. The materials used to construct the home, allow it to seamlessly merge with the surrounding environment, while also being durable, and ensuring minimal visual disruption. Locally sourced timber and glass were used to construct the home, forming transparent boundaries that allow natural light to pour into the home, while also providing views of the outside.

As mentioned earlier, the home also includes a vaulted, double-height ceiling that is the star feature of the home. The ceiling supports better airflow while providing lovely views of the surrounding environment. The layout of the home is open and continuous, creating a flexible and free-flowing living space that will adapt perfectly to the resident’s needs and requirements. The windows serve as frames, providing picture-perfect views of the outside.

The home includes a combined living and dining area, as well as a compact corner kitchen. It contains three main access points to the outdoors, one through a large arched glass window, as well as two parallel entrances from the dining and kitchen areas. The master bedroom and bathroom are placed behind the kitchen. The bedroom is equipped with double glass sliding doors, which offer access to the outside. The tiny home also includes an elevated loft area, which can be entered through a timber ladder. The loft serves as a cozy reading space, and it can also house two single beds if needed.

Top Tips For Designing Your Tiny Home Based on Climate and Environment

Par : Sarang Sheth
29 septembre 2024 à 11:40

The appeal of tiny homes continues to rise as more people are drawn to the simplicity, affordability, and sustainability they offer. However, creating a cozy, functional, and lasting tiny home necessitates taking your local climate and environment into account. In this editorial, we’ll explore how to tailor your tiny home to thrive in various climates, offering practical design considerations for temperate, tropical, arid (desert), cold, and coastal environments. From personal anecdotes to professional insights, this article will guide you through what to prioritize to ensure your tiny home is both comfortable and efficient.

The environment where you plan to build isn’t just a backdrop; it’s a critical element that influences construction materials, design aesthetics, and long-term livability. A well-designed tiny home reflects thoughtful consideration of the climate, turning potential challenges into advantages. Whether you’re dealing with extreme temperatures, high humidity, frequent storms, or snowfall, your tiny home can be an oasis of comfort and functionality if built with the right principles in mind. Let’s dive into how to design your tiny sanctuary to harmonize with the environment you live in.

Tiny Home Tips for a Temperate (Mild) Climate

1. Effective Insulation: Keep it Cozy Year-Round

One of the best decisions you can make for a tiny home in a temperate climate is to invest in effective insulation. Think materials such as thermal insulation that can maintain comfortable indoor temperatures regardless of the season. Double-glazed windows are a game-changer. They help keep the heat out during summer and retain warmth in winter, making your tiny home’s energy consumption significantly lower.

2. Natural Light: Brighten Your Space Naturally

Maximizing natural light is another key consideration. Large windows and skylights can transform a small space into a bright, airy sanctuary. Light-colored interior finishes, such as white walls or pale wood flooring, help reflect sunlight, enhancing the overall sense of space. This is not just about aesthetics; natural light positively impacts mental health and reduces the need for artificial lighting, saving energy.

3. Seasonal Adaptability: Adjust Your Spaces with Ease

A temperate climate sees changes in temperature and humidity throughout the year. Designing flexible spaces or modular elements within your home can allow you to adjust your living conditions easily. Heating and cooling systems should be tailored for moderate variations, ensuring that your home remains comfortable through the seasons without significant energy expenditure.

4. Ventilation: Fresh Air Circulation

Proper ventilation is crucial for maintaining air quality in your tiny home. Design your windows and vents to promote cross-ventilation, ensuring fresh air circulates freely. Ceiling fans or mechanical ventilation systems can supplement natural airflow, especially on those days when opening windows isn’t an option.

5. Sustainable Materials: Eco-Friendly Living

Choosing locally sourced, sustainable building materials not only reduces your carbon footprint but also supports local businesses. Consider green roofs or walls, which can offer additional insulation and improve air quality, making your tiny home more eco-friendly and enjoyable to live in.

Tiny Home Tips for a Tropical (Humid) Climate

1. Moisture-Resistant Materials: Combat the Dampness

In tropical climates, dealing with high humidity and frequent rainfall is essential. Bamboo wood is a superb choice, as it is naturally resistant to moisture. Metals that don’t rust and mold-resistant paints and finishes will also extend the life of your home, reducing maintenance costs and efforts.

2. Ventilation: Natural Breezes to prevent that Musty Feeling

Strategic window placement and the use of louvers can help maximize airflow, keeping your home cool and dry. Elevated flooring is another effective strategy, allowing air to circulate underneath the house and preventing moisture build-up and that dank, musty feeling that you can often get from homes with the windows shut for too long.

3. Shading: Beat the Heat and Rain

To combat the relentless sun, incorporate overhangs and pergolas into your design. These elements protect against direct sunlight and rain, while light-colored and reflective roofing materials can reduce heat absorption, keeping the indoor spaces cooler.

4. Cooling Strategies: Passive Solutions to Stay Comfortable

Incorporate natural cooling techniques such as wide eaves and verandas, which shield your home from the sun while allowing breezes to flow through. Passive cooling systems, like roof ventilation or even small water features, can also play a significant role in keeping your tiny home comfortably cool.

5. Outdoor Living Spaces: Expand Your Living Area

Designing for outdoor living spaces in tropical climates not only expands your living area but also helps mitigate indoor heat. Equip these areas with weather-resistant furniture and fixtures, creating a comfortable and inviting addition to your tiny home.

Tiny Home Tips for an Arid (Desert) Climate

1. Thermal Mass: Regulate Temperature Naturally

In desert climates, the drastic temperature changes between day and night call for materials with high thermal mass, such as adobe or concrete. These materials absorb heat during the day and release it at night, helping to regulate your home’s temperature naturally.

2. Shade and Cooling: Keeping Cool in the Desert Heat

Incorporate shading devices like awnings and pergolas to reduce heat gain. Evaporative cooling systems, which use water to cool the air, can be incredibly effective in these dry climates, providing an energy-efficient means of temperature control.

3. Water Conservation: Make Every Drop Count

Water is a precious resource in arid environments. Implement rainwater harvesting systems to collect and store what little rainfall you get. Low-flow fixtures and greywater recycling systems can help minimize water use, making your home more sustainable.

4. Solar Energy: Harness the Sun’s Power

Solar panels are a must in sun-drenched regions. With strategic placement, these panels can provide a significant portion of your home’s energy needs, reducing reliance on non-renewable sources and lowering bills.

5. Landscape Design: Drought-resistant and Beautiful

Opt for xeriscaping—a landscaping method that uses drought-resistant plants. This reduces the amount of water needed for gardening while still offering aesthetic benefits. Efficient irrigation solutions can further minimize outdoor water use, aligning your tiny home with sustainable living practices.

Tiny Home Tips for a Cold (Snowfall) Climate

1. Insulation and Heating: Stay Warm All Winter Long

For areas experiencing significant snowfall, proper insulation is paramount. Materials like spray foam or rigid foam board provide excellent thermal resistance. Efficient heating systems such as radiant floor heating or wood stoves can ensure your home remains warm and cozy.

2. Snow Load Consideration: Keep Your Roof Safe

Your roof should be designed to handle heavy snow loads. This typically means a steep pitch and possibly a metal roofing material to facilitate snow shedding, preventing structural damage.

3. Energy Efficiency: Keep the Cold Out and the Warmth In

Triple-glazed windows are an excellent investment in colder climates. They provide superior insulation, keeping the heat inside and cold air out. Pair these with energy-efficient appliances and fixtures to further reduce your energy consumption.

4. Weatherproofing: Shield Against the Elements

Sealing and weatherproofing are vital to prevent drafts and heat loss. Use durable, weather-resistant exterior cladding to protect your home from the elements, ensuring longevity and reduced maintenance.

5. Access and Safety: Ease Your Winter Woes

For those snowy winters, incorporating heated walkways or driveways can prevent ice build-up, making daily access safer. Design considerations should also include adequate storage for winter gear and provisions, ensuring that your tiny home remains functional during the cold months.

Tiny Home Tips for a Coastal Climate

1. Salt-Resistant Materials: Protect Against Corrosion

Living near the sea presents unique challenges, primarily due to salt. Choose materials like composites or treated wood that can withstand salt corrosion. Non-corrosive metals, such as stainless steel or aluminum, are also excellent options for fixtures and structural elements.

2. Elevated Design: Guard Against Flooding

An elevated structure helps prevent flooding and water damage, which are common issues in coastal areas. Sturdy foundations are necessary to withstand coastal storms and wave impact, ensuring the safety and durability of your tiny home.

3. Wind Resistance: Build to Withstand Strong Winds

To combat high winds, incorporate aerodynamic designs that reduce resistance. Reinforced structural elements, such as hurricane ties or braced frames, are critical in providing additional stability and safety.

4. Humidity Control: Maintain a Healthy Environment

Dehumidifiers or humidity control systems are essential in coastal climates. Proper ventilation is key to preventing mold and mildew growth, ensuring that your living space remains healthy and comfortable.

5. Views and Natural Light: Embrace the Scenic Beauty

One of the joys of coastal living is the view. Large windows and open layouts can maximize these ocean vistas, making your tiny home a serene retreat. Outdoor living spaces that blend seamlessly with the natural environment not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also expand your living area.

Designing a tiny home that harmonizes with its environment is an exercise in both creativity and practicality. The benefits are manifold: from increased comfort and efficiency to sustainability and aesthetic appeal. It requires a nuanced understanding of local climate challenges and opportunities. By using the right materials and design principles, you can create a tiny home that not only stands the test of time but also provides a sanctuary in harmony with nature.

Remember, your tiny home is more than just a place to live— it’s a reflection of your lifestyle and values. Whether you’re basking in the sun’s tropical warmth, savoring the tranquility of the coast, or enjoying the crisp air of a snowy landscape, your tiny home can be your personal oasis, thoughtfully designed for comfort and sustainability. So, as you embark on this journey, consider these tailored recommendations to make every square foot of your tiny home a testament to smart, climate-conscious design.

This Tiny Home Is Redefining Micro-Living With Its Spacious Apartment-Like Layout

15 septembre 2024 à 23:30

Named the Ventura Park Model Tiny Home, and designed by Mint Tiny House Company, this dwelling features a spacious apartment-like layout that can comfortably sleep six people. The home allows you to enjoy the flexibility of a tiny home, without having to downsize way too much. It is the best of both worlds. The house is based on a quad-axle trailer and features a length of 40 feet. It also has an increased width of 10 feet, unlike the typical tiny home standard of 8.5 feet – this allows for a more spacious layout. But, this also entails that the Ventura Park Model will need a permit for towing on a public road.

Designer: Mint Tiny House Company

You can enter the home via double glass doors, which lead you into the living room. The interior is quite spacious and light-filled, on account of a generous amount of glazing. It has a floor space of 400 sq ft, and it includes seating, a wall-mounted TV, an electric fireplace, and shelving. The kitchen is located close by, and it is U-shaped. A fridge/freezer, oven, microwave, three burner propane-powered stove, and a farmhouse-style sink are included in the kitchen. The kitchen also incorporates a breakfast bar with stool seating and storage space. The ground floor also houses a bathroom equipped with a shower, sink, and flushing toilet.

The tiny home contains three bedrooms. The master bedroom is placed on the ground floor, and you can enter it from the living room through a barn-style sliding door. Since the master bedroom is on the ground floor, it has plenty of headroom, allowing residents to stand straight. The room accommodates a double bed, a wardrobe, storage space, and a separate door that leads outdoors.

The remaining bedrooms are located upstairs. You can access one via a staircase, while a removable wooden ladder leads to the other. Both these rooms are typical loft-style bedrooms seen in most tiny homes. They have low ceilings, a double bed, and shelving. The rooms could also fit two single beds for kids, or be utilized as storage rooms if needed. The Ventura Park Model Tiny Home is currently priced at around US$134,000.

This Motorized Tiny Home Can Power Through Different Kinds Of Challenging Terrains

9 septembre 2024 à 01:45

Through the years tiny homes have been innovating like crazy, always surprising us with their unique and clever designs. Another tiny home that recently struck my fancy is the Rubishack by Canada’s Rubitracks. The Rubishack is a one-of-a-kind home with its own engine and off-road tracks, which ensure that it can handle even the most challenging terrains. The Rubishack a motor home amped with a heavily modified truck base and a first-generation Cummins engine which has covered only about 150,000 miles.

Designer: Rubitracks

The tiny home is anchored by four bolt-on tracks which have been constructed by Rubitracks. It is a four-wheel-drive, and can successfully handle rivers, snow, the beach, and muddy terrains. The “home” section of Rubishack is made primarily from wood, and equipped with generous glazing as well as a planter at the front. It measures 16 feet in length and 7 feet in width. The interior is well-designed, and both the driver and passenger seats have been sourced from a 1970s motorhome. Both the seats can swivel at 360 degrees. The double bed has been positioned in front of the driving seat, while the seating area and table have been placed behind it.

The Rubishack tiny home was designed by Rubitracks as a promotional attempt, instead of an actual tiny house that serves as a motor home as well. So, unfortunately, the build isn’t going to be available anytime soon in the market. However, it is an innovative creation that truly pushes the boundaries of what a tiny home can be. The Rubishack can powerfully work through landscapes with different terrains, which is truly a feat in itself.

This Is The Tiniest Tiny Home We’ve Seen With A Clever Space-Saving Layout & Loads Of Storage

18 août 2024 à 23:30

Designed by France’s Baluchon, the Nano Suisse is really one of the tiniest tiny homes we’ve ever seen. It may be super small, but it is still functional and practical enough to live in. It measures 3.5 m in length, and features a clever space-saving layout that can accommodate two people, and also house a home office. Typical Baluchon homes are twice the size of Nano Suisse, so it is quite small, although it is described as the “big sister” to Baluchon’s Nano home. However, the size difference isn’t much at all, since the Nano Suisse features an increased length of 7.8 inches. However, Suisse’s interior is pretty different and has plenty of storage options.

Designer: Baluchon

Founded on a double-axle trailer, the Nano Suisse features red cedar cladding amped with aluminum accenting. As you enter the home, you are welcomed by a home office area, which also serves as a dining area. It contains seating for two people, a big porthole-style window, and plenty of storage. The storage is pretty commendable when you consider the size of the tiny house. The space also includes a sofa bed, which can be used in the main living space and bedroom. This section includes more storage as well.

Although, you must take into consideration that the kitchen is quite small. It is basic – equipped with a fridge, sink and some storage. It also contains a portable stove, but besides that, it doesnt have any other amenities. This could be considered bare for some people, so the home is only suitable for short stays, or for people who are okay with a very simple life.

The bathroom is the only separate room in the tiny home, and you can access it via a sliding door from the kitchen. The bathroom is integrated with a shower and toilet, but there isn’t any sink, since there isn’t much space, to be honest. A small storage loft has been placed above the bathroom. Currently, the Nano Suisse has been delivered to the owner’s land in Switzerland. We are unsure of the home’s pricing, but Baluchon’s tiny homes usually start at around US$92,000.
